More Information
This tutorial covers the subject
of creating an infra-red effect
The video runs for about 12 minutes
and will take 15 minutes to download via a 1 Meg
Broadband link. The file you will download will
be zipped together with the starting image and document
file. The use of Black and White Infra-Red film
in the darkroom was a difficult process, but the
end results when we got them right were often stunning.
We cannot completely duplicate the effects using
digital means, but we can come close and the effect
we do create has a lot of charm.
Although we have a set of steps
to follow in this tutorial to achieve the result
we also need to adapt the settings along the way
depending on the image used. In this video we show
you how and although we have used Photoshop CS to
record these video tutorials you can follow along
using any version of Photoshop.
This effect does not reduce in
size very well for use on the internet and to enable
you to evaluate the effect we have included a high
resolution image, which you can access by clicking
the demo button below. Once the image has opened,
right click it and save it on your hard drive so
you can see how it looks in Photoshop. It
is important the image is seen at the print size
in Photoshop
