More Information
We
are always looking for a new way to present our images, which will make ours stand
out from the crowd, but with so many great cameras on the market that take super
quality pictures that is getting more and more difficult.
What
me may wish to do is to become a little more creative and while out and about
with our camera we should be looking out for textures that are all around us,
some
natural as in rock and tree bark and some less natural, but equally appealing
such as rusty metal and flaking old paint.
These
types of images are all around us and we just need to train ourselves to look
for them. After a while it becomes second nature and over time we can build up
quite a library of useful textures.

In
this downloadable tutorial we use Photoshop CS2, but you can use any version of
Photoshop to follow this technique. We take you through the techniques to combine
other images with your textures to create something a little more unique. We use
layers and layer masks, but as usual every image is different and we have to adapt
and change our approach depending on how the image develops.
We
have included 4 images with this download to help you get started. Two textures
and two train images.
The techniques
we demonstrate here are the same ones you will need for many other aspects of
your digital photography. Many of the techniques we learn have a myriad of uses
in a wide variety of subjects.
